Water - the Writer’s Diet Trap of the Week

This week’s diet trap is water. Too often, I get absorbed researching or crafting an article. The next thing I know an hour has passed and I haven’t drunk any water. Lack of water affects my energy level and mental clarity most. But it’s essential for detoxification, regular bowel movements and nearly every function your body performs. Sound like you? Avoid this trap with these tips.
• Keep a carafe of water where you write so it is readily available
• Drink at least eight eight-ounce glass of water daily. Another general rule is to divide your body weight by two. That’s the number of ounces of water to drink each day. So if you weigh 130 pounds, drink 65 ounces of water daily.
• Use a mindfulness bell to remind you to drink (and to breathe.)
• Drink purified water whenever possible. Water is a key source of antibiotic, hormone, pesticide and other chemical residues. It’s like the difference between rinsing your dishes in dirty water or clean water. Reverse osmosis or distillation is best.
Bottoms up and happy writing!
