The sun is shining brightly here in New York. I went for a walk and happened to run into a dog — A stubby stick of a black and white terrier.
Meet Izzy. Izzy is a dog.
Two years ago, Izzy’s Person died. That was the day Izzy’s life changed forever.

Hello Izzy. What is it like for man’s best friend to lose his person?
Ruffff. Very very rufff. I mean sure I’m a dog. But it doesn’t mean I got no feelings. I do. And it hurt. It hurt a lot. Still does. Like I said. It’s rufff.
What do you do to fill the void?
I get out. I go for walks — Long walks — Short walks. I like that. I chase squirrels. Chasing squirrels keeps me busy.
What do you miss most?
I miss the sound of the garage door going up at the end of the day. I mean I got nothing to bark at no more. At least not like before.
Is there anything you want to tell me about your Person — Something you’d like to share with the whole wide world?
Yeah. My Person was GRRRRRRRRReat! And don’t you forget it!

I received such support from my mother’s furry roommate throughout her dance with cancer. Good reminder that these four-legged friends grieve just as deeply. ~Molly
