Not quite a review by Suzanne Lieurance
All writers have their favorite books about writing.
I have many.
One of my favorites is a little book called A Manual of Writer’s Tricks by David L. Carroll.
This isn’t a new book.
In fact, I think it was first published in 1995, but there has been at least one updated edition since then.
It isn’t an expensive book either.
At the time of publication of this first edition, the suggested retail price was just $9.95.
I bought my copy at a half-price book store…so you can do the math.
What I particularly like about the book is the way each chapter is organized into short subtopics that can be read rather quickly.
Most days I spend my time writing.
But some days I like to READ about writing.
I often find myself rereading this book on days like that.

I’m heading to the library today and I plan to pick this one up if I can find it there. I do enjoy books about writing too.

Hi, Karen.
Thanks for visiting. I think you’ll really enjoy this book. I hope you can find it at your library. If not, you can get a used copy on amazon.com for around $3.00 - and it’s well worth it.
