I Hope I Never Meet Oprah…

Be honest, how many authors have said that? I’m willing to bet that I’m the only person in this universe that has said that. Why? Somehow, I think if I were to meet Oprah to discuss my book, then the pursuit of my bliss has come to an end.
One of Oprah’s favorite authors, gave an interesting quote,
“If there’s a book you really want to read, but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.” ~Toni Morrison.
It puts the notion of writing a book in a totally different light. The light that readers and writers long cast in the middle of the night as they anxiously read or write that novel that has captured their imagination and heart.
Sure, there is a ‘business side’ to most everything. But there is nothing compared to that undescribable sense of exhilaration and excitement when a writer is in the midst of writing from a perspective of pure joyfulness.
I don’t think an Agent, publishing contract or hell, even an appearance on the Oprah show that can ever capture that.
I hope I never meet Oprah.
