How to Make Money From What You Know

There’s a secret to making money from your expertise.

Many people think it’s to write a book. That’s a good thing, to write a book. Authors still are considered experts. Publishing a book still confers more expert status than getting a Ph.D. (It’s less expensive, too.)

However, publishing a book is only the beginning. Sadly, it’s the worst format for your information to take, financially.

I know. As the author of 11 published books, most of them very different from each other, I’ve learned the hard way that writing books is no way to try to make a living.

I’ve learned some lessons the hard way. One of the key ones is that if you have a message, and you want to influence people with that message, the best way to do it is to find as many ways as possible to deliver that message to as many people as possible.

As you do that, you will discover three things:

1. There are many profitable ways to deliver content to readers.
2. The more ways you can deliver your message, the more people you will influence.
3. The more ways you can deliver your message, the more you will profit.

This is called “repurposing” or “multipurposing” your content, and it was the subject of an article I wrote recently, and a teleseminar I did just last night with master of repurposing strategies, Jeff Herring.
