1. Emphasize the value customers receive from your product or service over how good you personally believe it to be-your success is found in increasing this on an ongoing basis
2. Use value added strategies-look for “the little things” you can add to the product or service that greatly enhance the perception of value.
3. Consider extending your product or service line to create growth opportunities, especially with items related to and demanded by the target market-expend the line with an understanding of extension risks.
4. Understand the different methods of innovation and how these techniques contribute to improving your product or service offering-innovate or die!
5. Use bundling, packaging, positioning, and branding to distinguish your product or service within your industry.
6. Focus on “back end” sales and capitalize on a series of products or services to deliver over a period of time-create a residual stream of income versus a one time event.
7. Understand quality parameters most important to your customers and develop strategies to improve those key areas.
8. Use licensing as an intelligent way to grow-either or both licensing things from others and licensing out your assets to others.
9. Focus on incrementally and constantly improving the value customers receive from your products or service-do not rest on your laurels.
10. Use your product or service and the value it creates to impact the teamwork, pride, and morale within your firm.
